Since 1975
About Kröne Contract
We furnish the places where Puerto Rico works and heals, from our showroom in San Juan.
For more than five decades, we have helped businesses, owners, architects and designers turn plans into spaces that work: offices, clinics, hospitals and executive floors across the island.
A contract furniture company rooted in Puerto Rico.
Kröne Contract International is a contract furniture company based in Puerto Rico, since 1975. We serve offices and commercial spaces, healthcare facilities and executive interiors: places used hard, every day, by many people.
We work alongside businesspeople, owners, facility managers, architects, interior designers, and the companies that occupy these buildings. Our role is to bring them design-led furniture from European and North American makers, and to make sure it is specified correctly, arrives in good condition and is installed as drawn.
Contract furniture is made for that kind of use: tested to recognized standards, designed to be maintained and repaired, and chosen to last well beyond the first year of a project.
Good furniture is measured over years of use, not on the day it is installed.
What our team does
- Space planning
- A preliminary service: initial layouts and furniture recommendations that show how a floor can be organized and which pieces suit each area.
- Interior design
- Complete corporate and commercial interior design, offered as a separate service and quoted for each project.
- Specification
- Finishes, upholstery, dimensions and performance standards such as ANSI/BIFMA, documented so each piece can be compared, approved and ordered with confidence.
- Procurement and logistics
- Purchasing, consolidation and shipping from the factory to Puerto Rico, followed from order to arrival.
- Delivery and installation
- Delivery and installation by our team as an option, or pickup at our San Juan showroom.
- Quickship
- A program of selected pieces and finishes delivered in Puerto Rico in 2, 3 or 4 weeks. See the Quickship collection.
- International shipments
- Coordination of shipments to other countries for clients whose projects extend beyond Puerto Rico.
The makers we represent
We represent manufacturers with long histories and a clear way of making things. Some are family companies now led by a second or third generation; others grew from a single specialty into complete collections.
- Ontario, Canada, since 1880: A furniture tradition that dates to 1880, now dedicated to furniture for healthcare.
- Vidor, Treviso, since 1954: A workshop opened in 1954 that grew through large contract commissions in the 1960s and has focused on the office since the 1970s.
- Mariano Comense, Brianza, since 1957: Founded by four brothers and now in its third generation, the company is known for its saddle-leather work and for making almost everything in-house.
- Near Bergamo, Italy, since 1963: A blacksmith’s workshop that began with metal outdoor chairs. Its founder built the machines he needed as he went; today his two children lead the company, which produces entirely in Italy.
- Tuscany, Italy, since 1975: A seating maker that began with mechanical components before making complete chairs.
- Province of Treviso, Italy, since 1991: An office-furniture group, completely made in Italy, that works closely with architects and designers.
- Near Milan, Italy, since 2002: A company that produces design pieces in polyethylene with renowned designers.
In a clinic, one chair may serve hundreds of people. We specify for that.
From the first conversation to installation
- Listen: We begin with how the space will be used: who works there, how people move and what the project must achieve.
- Plan: Layouts and furniture recommendations test the program against the floor plan before anything is ordered.
- Specify: Finishes, upholstery and standards are documented clearly, so designers, owners and purchasing teams approve the same thing.
- Sample and mock-up: Material samples, and mock-ups when the project calls for them, so decisions are made with the real piece at hand.
- Deliver and install: Coordinated delivery and installation by our team, or pickup at the showroom when that suits the client better.
- Stay: We remain close for the long life of the furniture: additions, reconfigurations and advice as the space changes.
Half a century on, the work is the same: listen carefully, specify honestly, install it well.
